Unfair Practices

Several weeks (almost a month) after inquiring of Disqus as to why I was banned, I have received NO WORD from them. At least Pissed Consumer is acting like they're interested in my situation. I no longer have a voice on Disqus controlled comment sites and the number of...

I have been a big fan of Breitbart News for a long time (years) until recently when Disqus banned me from the BB forums. Since then, I have personally witnessed NUMEROUS offenses on the BB forums that dwarfed any and all offenses that I may have committed and yet I'M THE ONE THAT GETS BANNED. It is my sincere belief that Disqus uses politically skewed 'moderators' in their attempt at determining who is and is not banned from commenting on forums. Since my comments tend to lean to the 'right', I am NOT a favorite of the Disqus moderators. I think something should be done to monitor and moderate these so-called moderators that Disqus uses in their attempt(s) to police speech on the various platforms on which they have been tasked. It's FAR too easy for a left-wing moderator to ban someone with whom they don't agree. Pros:
- Ability to exchange ideas
- Variety
Cons:
- Squelching of dissent in the only open forum with the va
- Inability of moderators to allow this free exchange of ideas

Unfair Banning Practices
Preferred solution: Reinstatement of privileges

Wrong person penalized if they have the balls to check.
Just put on a time out this morning yet cameron308 who had posts above me was the immature person who should be banned. Hope Disqus goes down the tubes soon as many conservative sites have in my lifetime.

Disqus has my email wrong
Disqus has my email as alicewee@***.com which is incorrect. My correct email is alicewee@***e,com. I use my Twitter account under the name Melibous to try to make comments in my local paper and other news sources, but am unable to do so because you give the wrong email for verification and I cannot verify. Could you please correct this?

Can not get confirmation e-mail they required
You go to log in and they tell that they require a confirmation e-mail. They tell you to tap the confirmation e-mail mail and they will send an e-mail to your mail box so you complete the confirmation; except the e-mail never appears in your in box. This means that you cannot complete the log in process No direct phone number to contact them to correct the problem, only an endless on line BS info that doesn’ Help you solve the problem. Never trust a company that doesn’t provide a contact phone number.

Paradoxical
What I really don't understand about Disqus is....stupefying me. I actually LIKE what I saw (just now online about Disqus's infos) about the company i.e. I LIKE their location, their staff, their philosophy.... but I don't get their paradoxical and inunderstandable propensity for bizarre markings as "spam" or banning the people who are, actually, similar to them. I honestly NEVER spammed nor did I intend to spam, I only, not even knowingly, practiced their and my values as they state them, yet they rushed to mark me as spam and banned me - for no valid reason. I'm trying to resolve this bizarre issue that could have been caused by hackers as someone mentioned already, but .... if I have to, if they stick to their (or, whose...?) bizarre negative decision as to me, I'll certainly survive without Disqus.

Pros:
- Location
- Staff
- Philosophy
Cons:
- Propensity for falsely marking my comments as spam
- Some of their paradoxical practices
- Bizarre ban

I created accounts without even knowing it
I posted "with Disqus" on a couple of sites, commenting. I was new to Disqus so Disqus asked for email sign in without clarifying that I was opening an account. The first time I signed in with one email address, the second time another so I created two accounts and the confirmation of those accounts must have landed in my spam folder- of course so I STILL was not aware I had created accounts. When I finally figured it out I tried to sign on on the Disqus website, but I could not do so because it had created those accounts on the fly, without a password. All my info was out there.. without me knowing this for the longest. I closed both accounts through customer service. That is to say, I THINK I closed them but I can't check that because to be able to see if I still exist, I would have to sign in.. and open an account. If I get to a site that uses Disqus I will not comment on anything. Just saying.
